I recently attended a NASA social where I was able to watch the Orion Ascent Abort Test 2. This was a test of the Launch Abort System (LAS) for the Orion capsule. It’s interesting stuff because a “tiny” rocket on top of the capsule on top of a huge rocket can yank the astronauts away quicker than you can shake a stick, but more on that coming soon.
While I was there I took the opportunity to visit the Kennedy Space Center and checked out the Saturn V they have hanging up there. Because today is the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon I put together something fun from that. Enjoy. Go Saturn V! Go Apollo 11! Thanks NASA Social team!
